You may be seeing the leaf curl because there isn't enough root mass to support the top growth. In the heat of the day the plants transpiration rate is very high in an effort to cool itself. Low root mass doesn't allow for enough water uptake to keep up with the transpiration rate and the result can be some leaf curl.
