I assume you have a question about the odd bract formations so I'll take a guess at what the question might be. Have you used any PGR's on these Poinsettias? If so what type, when and at what rate? Also...what source of molybdenum are you using and at what rate?....Michael Pawelek

It looks like a significant reductuction in bracts size which is usually the result of a late PGR application or using rates that are too high before enough color is showing. What has been applied for growth regulators?

It also looks like there might also be some curl or burn on the bracts. Have you made any spray applications recently that correlate with the onset of the symptoms. Are you making weekly calcium sprays?

This looks like an abnormality that appears in C. Burgundy. It is usually only 1 or 2 plants doing this out of a larger group. The affected plants do not recover. I do not know the cause, but since it is not unusual to see this in Florida it could be temperature related. C. Burgundy is fairly sensitive to high temperatures that cause poor branching and misshaped leaves. If you have a large number of plants like this, you could contact the Fischer folks about what may be doing it. Jim

For myself in the north east, we use cortez burgundy as an indicator plant for high PH. Normaly I would feel ok with 6.2 but with cortez I would think twice. Might wanna check your PH.

I agree with Jim Barrett.
We are seeing this symptom every year also in midden Europe
almost only in Cortez Burgundy in a very small percentage.
We cannot see any reference to aimed size(from mini-personal points up to big bushes>almost no PGR<Wink of finished plants or temperature

We always see a few plants (Cortez Burgundt)every year also. We are in a more moderate climate so I dont think it is from heat in our area. My guess is it is just a bad sport.

I think the obvious thing to do would be a tissue sample of the effected ones and and also a test from an unaffected plant to see the difference if any.
This is my first year to grow C Burgandy and I have not noticed this in my crop. We had EXTREME heat inside our GH. MANY DAYS 105+
I will scout today and post my findings.

I will add we have fed very heavily until 11/10 to gain some size.
It looks as though all the older leaves are very healthy and expanded properly.
Maybe C Burgandy needs a little extra of one of the micro nutrients towards the end to finish expansion.
