Just recalling last season, I remember my prestige losing their flowers in the first half of the month of december. just looking ahead for this year. Any suggestions on how to avoid that this time around?
Premature cyathia drop is the result of warm finishing temperatures combined with low light levels. Moisture stress will also exaggerate the situation. The warmer temperatures increase the plants respiration rate and as a result the plant food reserves deplete rapidly and react by dropping cyathia.
Late October and early November can bring cool, cloudy weather and many growers find that they need to warm temperatures to speed the development of the crop. A better quality crop is produced when optimum temperatures for development are maintained throughout the growing cycle so at the end of the crop temperatures can be reduced and food reserved depleted more gradually in the plant.
