Well, It's that time of the season where all of the Poinsettias are out of the greenhouses and this part of the forum goes really quiet until next Summer when most of us are back in the Poinsettia business and questions start to pop back up. Unfortunately down here in the deep South we are already blending soil, filling containers, planting liners and filling the greenhouses for the Spring of '2008. Here in S.E. Texas some of our best sales weekends happen in late February and early March so we have to get on the ball right now to make sure the greenhouses are packed full of colorful blooming plants in just 8-9 weeks. Hopefully most everyone's questions were answered on their Poinsettia crop this year and everyone will use the knowledge they gained this season to make next year's crop better. My hopes are that everyone on the board has a Merry Christmas and very prosperous New Year!!!.....Michael Pawelek (Pecan Hill Nursery)

Michael,
Thanks for your input and the great pics. Photography is one of my passions that I hardly ever get to indulge in. What camera do you use?

Oh yea...if memory serves me correctly you are down around San Antonio?

My wife and I have traveled down there several times, next time we are down there it would be an honor to meet you.

Hey I could call it a business/educational trip.

Merry Christmas Smile Smile

Terry, For my plant/outdoor pictures and those I use on my "display signs" in the greenhouses during sales I have a 6 year old Kodak Digital that would be considered obsolete by most folks these days but it works so well I'll keep using it until it eventually breaks. Pictures I take to keep as prints are taken with a 25 year old 35mm Nikon (real film) that also works very well. I'll upgrade both eventually but right now I'm not willing to start over again! We live about 35 miles West of Houston off I-10 that runs between Houston and San Antonio. Give us some notice and we would enjoy a visit any time!.....Michael

Off to the Mexican Caribbean in a month, then I get serious about spring! (We need to switch over to the annuals forum now!)
