Does anyone know of or use any kind of heat retention curtain or blanket in the greenhouse to conserve heat? Am looking to reduce heating costs as propane prices are sky high here in middle Georgia. I have standard quonset and gothic double layer poly houses.

Tim,
LS had a heat retention/shade cloth material available. I am sure they can direct you to a supplier to help you design what will work. The systems gets complicated depending on your greenhouse structure and how much you want to spend. The last shade LS cloth we purchased was through Cravo. The last phone number I have is 519-759-8226. They sewed in the hooks and a re-enforced material strip. Hope this helps. |

Thanks, Jim, for the info. What is "LS"?

Tim,
"Ludwig Svenson". I am not sure if they are still in business. They did come up on a Google search. There might be other manufactures that make a comparable shade/heat retention cloth. |

Hello Tim,
I was forwarded a post by a supplier from your August '07 discussion on energy/shade curtain. Were you able to find out the information that you needed on the energy curtains? I work with Rough Brothers Greenhouses (based out of Cincinnati) and have the southeast office in Hendersonville, NC. We use the LS cloths and do complete curtain systems. If you would like any additional information or for me to stop by, I'd be glad to help. Thank you, James Parris (Roughbros.com) |
