I'm involved in the Penn State Poinsettia Growers trial and we are going to be receiving several varieties from Ecke Ranch that I can't find enough information on. If you can provide me with some cultural info on the varieties '1056 Marble', '54-06', and 'PX14001' it would be greatly appreciated. I am especially interested in their response times and growth regulator needs. Thanks in advance.

Hi Kevin,
I think we will be doing some nutritional testing for you all as part of our PTS package. If you have any issues or questions regarding fertility please let me know.

Hi Kevin-

1056 is a mid season marble with similar characteristics to Independence Red. It has an 8.5 week response time. This poinsettias is a medium vigor variety.

54-06 is a mid season Jingle Bells with similar characteristics to the Classic Family. It has an 8.5-9 week response time. 54-06 has great vigor so it is perfect in larger container sizes but it is responsive to standard PGR regimes and can easily be controlled in smaller containers.

PX14001 is a mid season white with medium vigor.

What about 'Ice Punch', displayed as a new variety at the OFA Conference. Is it available or is it still a Home Depot exclusive?

Ice Punch is not exclusive to any programs this season. There are unrooted cuttings available throughout the month of August and rooted cuttings available beginning Week 35. If you would like to try rooted cuttings this later ship date would work well for 4" and mini production, which Ice Punch is well suited for. For specific availability here's a link to our live inventory: On Hand.
