Hi Cid -
Unfortunately, we don't produce geraniums here at the Ecke Ranch so in terms of rate recommendations we don't have any experience to offer. The low rate Bonzi drench is designed to tone and slow growth with out delaying flower development of effecting flower size. The same technique could be used with geraniums but we would caution to trial the rate and timing first before applying the Bonzi to your entire crop. Geraniums are very sensitive to Bonzi, especially drenches. In fact, there is a caution on the label about drenches. Here is a quote from the label “Although effective, drenches should be made with caution due to the extreme sensitivity of geraniums to Bonzi. Trials should be conducted to determine optimum rates." Spray applications at 10-30 ppm can be effectively made to control growth. Early applications should be at lower rates to avoid over stunting. Timing for seed geraniums is 2-4 weeks after transplant. The label does not make recommendations specific to ivy geraniums. While we can not offer specific rates based on experience we do encourage those that have used Bonzi on geraniums and specifically low rate drenches to offer their advice and incite! Thanks! Thank you for using Ecke Ranch Tech Help on-line! |
